Armagetron Chat Settings

Armagetron comes with a set of pre-defined bound chat keys. These keys also have pre-defined chat terms that can be changed and personalised to make the game more personalised for you.

Ingame Chat

To be able to talk to other players while in a game, press the "s" key and type a message and press enter, the "S" key is the defaul bound key for chat, but you can bind any key you want for this.

When in game and a player presses the "S" key or whatever key is bound for chat, they instantly go onto auto pilot mode, until enter is hit. Whilst a player is in "chat bot" mode a yellow triangle appears above their bike indicating they are on auto pilot, this is known as chatbot mode.
It is common curtesy "not" to kill a player while talking unless the player is constantly talking or has left themselves in chatbot mode.

The default keys for chat are:

F4 :: LOL!
F5 :: /team 1 Yes Qui Ja
F6 :: /team 0 No Non Nein
F7 :: /team I'm going in!
F8 :: Give the rim a break, hug a tree instead.
F9 :: Lag is a myth. It is only in your brain.
F10 :: Rubber kills gameplay!
F11 :: Every time you double bind, God kills a kitten.

1 :: Only idiots keep their instant chat at default values/
2 :: /me wanted to download pron, and only got this stupid game,

You can bind any key to chat, by going to player1 settings, choose the option input configuration once there you can bind your keys to suit your personal preferences.

To bind a key, use your keyboards up and down arrow keys to move over the options, when you reach the option you want to change, press enter and you will be asked what key you wish to use, press this, then enter again, and exit once you have finished.

You can also colour your text, instructions for how can be found here, though this feature is not supported by all servers.
