Changing your default chat font colour

Armagetron Cycle

This guide was written by |x|Rico.
The default chat colour on Armagetron is a pale yellow colour, which can get a little boring when looking at it all the time. Some people decide to be a little different, and change their default font colour so it looks more interesting.

Instructions

To do this, you need to:

1. Open Armagetron

2. Select 'Player Setup' on the main menu and press Enter

3. Select 'Player 1 Settings' on the main menu and press Enter

4. Scroll to 'Instant Chat Setup' and press Enter

5. Highlight the first Instant Chat that you do not use, and delete whatever is currently in it.

6. Type in the colour code you want to use as your default text colour – this is as a hex code, but with 0x at the start instead of #, and then followed by a \ at the end. The \ leaves the chat “open”, meaning when you press that instant chat key you can continue to write other stuff after it. So, as an example, to have Cyan/Aqua as a font colour, type 0x00ffff\ in the appropriate instant chat box. A list of colour codes can be found here.

7. Return to the main menu.

8. Enter a local game by entering Game from the main menu, then highlighting Local Game and pressing enter. Press the appropriate key that you assigned that instant chat to (by default they are from F1 to F12, then 1 to 0). You may need to check what key to press by going into Player Setup > Player 1 Settings > Input Configuration, and looking at the Instant chat number you just put the colour code onto.
